BKN: What do you do and for how long have you been doing it?

SW: I worked as a 4th grade teacher for 5 years. I wanted to do thing I love most, which is videography. My best gift as a child was a 6 hr video tape that was all mine to record anything I wanted. I took a leap of faith and started Twin City Media 7 years ago. We provide quality and affordable video marketing to hundreds of companies. We offer companies the opportunity to go digital vs just having text on the page.

BKN: Who is your best customer or target customer?

SW: My best customer would be people who understand the value of being seen and heard. We work with all sizes of companies, including small businesses, educational institutions, non-profits, anyone who wants a visual presence. One of our top customers has been Salem College & Academy.

BKN: What has been the biggest impact of COVID-19 on your business?

SW: We actually had increased demand as people could no longer rely on old forms of marketing. We began walking clients through how they can market and grow. There were a few clients who pushed things back to a later date.

BKN: What are 1 or 2 actions you've taken because of the pandemic?

SW: I helped clients know and understand what to do, and found new customers via YouTube and Facebook ads. I pivoted to filming graduations, convocations, and video communication for parents from college.

BKN: What has been your biggest learning since you've been a business owner?

SW: I’ve learned to be honest. Tell the truth. I enjoy helping people explore options and look at it as “how can I help this organization?”

BKN: What is most inspiring to you today?

SW: Listening to my clients talk about how amazing we are at providing value to others has been very inspiring.
