BKN: Coach Beverly Kiser-Nutt
JS: Jodie Steele, owner of Millennial Realty
BKN: What do you do and for how long have you been doing it?
JS: I worked in the banking industry as a bank manager and hated it. I have always been fascinated with the real estate market and current trends, so I decided to leave banking and get my real estate license and learn everything I could about the industry. I went all-in on real estate 2.5 years ago, and I’m currently working with Keller Williams. I wanted to be my own boss, do business my own way, using skills I have learned in the banking industry to help me be successful in the real estate world.
BKN: Who is your best customer or target customer?
JS: There is a major range in clientele. I work a lot with clients purchasing land and new constructions. My best clients are people who trust me, who are open to my advice, who are willing to listen to my expertise in helping them.
BKN: What has been the biggest impact of COVID-19 on your business?
JS: Showing homes has been challenging – my top priority is keeping people safe.
BKN: What are 1 or 2 actions you've taken because of the pandemic?
JS: I held open houses but managed the traffic flow, provided masks and gloves, and sanitized all handles throughout the homes. We have been able to safely show homes to clients and continue with safety efforts.
BKN: What has been your biggest learning since you've been a business owner?
JS: Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Ask those who are at the top in your field for input, advice, and assistance. Don’t be all about doing it all yourself.
BKN: Any offers to include in the newsletter?
JS: Free Consultation – even if you are buying a year from now, let me help set you up for success.
BKN: What is most inspiring to you today?
JS: A few months ago I contracted COVID-19 and was incredibly sick for an entire month. So many people reached out to help me in every possible way – groceries – food – anything they could do to help me. That has been the most inspiring to me. The kindness of those around me.
