JL: Jenn Lewis, Jenn Lewis Photography

BKN: What do you do and how long have you done it?

JL: I am a custom portrait photographer, specializing in modern teen and high school senior portraits, providing heirloom quality albums and custom wall art. I also specialize in corporate and actor headshots as well as commercial photography and video for websites and social media for businesses. I have been in business for nearly 14 years and I have a studio in Clemmons.

BKN: Who would you describe as your best customer or target customer?

JL: My portrait clients value printed photographs of their loved ones. They want photographs of their families to hand down through generations. My commercial clients understand that the first impression they make to a potential customer can mean the difference between the customer choosing them or their competitor, and they realize that professional photos make that difference. They also understand that having actual photos of them and their working environment can bring a comfort level to their potential customers of knowing what to expect that can’t be achieved with stock imagery.

BKN: What has been the biggest impact of COVID-19 on your business?

JL: Covid has definitely had an effect on my volume since last year, but we are ramping back up and ready for a great year!

BKN: What are one or two actions you've taken because of the pandemic?

JL: Due to reduced volume with Covid, I’ve been able to offer services that I normally don’t have the time to take on… I have added Senior Films (like a movie trailer for your senior), Kid and Tween Studio Sessions for kids ages 5 and up, and brought in more families for family sessions.

BKN: What has been your biggest learning since you've been a business owner?

JL: It took me some time to find my niche in photography, but I love creating an amazing experience for our teens and seniors. It’s about so much more than just the photos. Especially with the current situation with Covid, they’ve lost out on so much, and I love to give them a fun experience to add to their high school memories!

BKN: Do you have any offers you want to include in the newsletter?

JL: Book a teen or senior session and receive a bonus $100 in print credit toward your order. Book a headshot session and receive a $20 discount when you mention ActionCoach. Both offers expire 5/31/2021.

BKN: What is most inspiring to you right now?

JL: I love networking with other small businesses in the local area. I have been so inspired by the support within the community of local businesses, especially since Covid began. It’s incredible to see everyone helping each other stay afloat and supporting each other during these very difficult times.
