BKN: Coach Beverly Kiser-Nutt
DF: Dane Fillers, Insurance Agent at Farm Bureau Insurance
BKN: Tell me about your company and how long you have been in business
DF: I became licensed insurance agent in January of 2019. I have been in sales a long time. I work with my clients to design and implement insurance that works for them. I offer a confidential insurance review. I protect families, their assets, their lives.
BKN: Who is your best customer or target customer?
DF: My best client is a family looking to protect that they have and prepare for the future.
BKN: What has been the biggest impact of COVID-19 on your business?
DF: Essential businesses were allowed to stay open. We opened with split shifts – a week at work in the office and a week working from home.
BKN: What are 1 or 2 actions you've taken because of the pandemic?
DF: We’ve had to adapt to the unknown, and the restrictions were tough – we like house calls, but we were forced to rely on phone calls. We broke down the information for clients on the phone or via Zoom, and we created safe e-signing platforms to guarantee security.
BKN: What has been your biggest learning since you've been a business owner?
DF: I’ve learned how to help clients get what they need, to understand underwriting regulations in NC and what best fits each client to offer them savings and improvement in coverage.
BKN: Any offers to include in the newsletter?
DF: A Confidential Insurance Review to anyone who mentions this interview
BKN: What is most inspiring to you today?
DF: What inspires me is the clients I have taken care of, referring me to their friends and family because they trust me to care of their loved ones.
