BKN: Tell me a little bit about yourself and your business.  
  

FC: I’m a 33-year-old entrepreneur, a certified life coach, a father and husband, a man of Christ, and CEO of DreamU Event Planning & Marketing. We’re a digital media marketing company that helps small businesses build their brands using social media platforms. Not only do we provide marketing and graphic design services, but we are also an event planning company. We do weddings, baby showers, sweet sixteen parties, networking events, charity events, and more. We officially started in 2018, but I’ve been doing this work on and off for the last 10 years. Our mantra is, “if you dream it, we bring it to life”.  
  

BKN: Who is your target customer?  
  

FC: I have some great clients, and I think all of them are amazing, but my best customers are the ones that are making a difference in peoples’ lives through their business.   
  

BKN: How has COVID-19 impacted your business?  
  

FC: We lost some clients due to the financial strain of COVID, and a lot of events got cancelled. A few months later, through building my presence online, I gained some clients back, so COVID has caused a lot of fluctuation.  
  

BKN: What are one or two actions you’ve taken because the pandemic and how are they working?  
  

FC: I’ve been more aggressive with reaching out to clients and trying to do more consultations. A lot of our work has shifted away from events, so I’m doing more graphic design now. One of the first things I did was I emailed all my clients and gave them 3 options: continue to pay full price if you’re able, I’ll give you a discount if you can’t afford full price, or I’ll accept a donation as your payment.  
  

BKN: What has been your biggest learning as a business owner?  
  

FC: Staying positive and getting organized. It is especially important to organize your time because it can become tedious if you’re unorganized; things can get lost in the shuffle. 
  

BKN: What has been inspiring to you lately?   
  

FC: The future goals I have for the business are inspiring. We are approaching our two-year anniversary as a business, and wanting to get to our 3rd anniversary is inspiring to me.
