BKN: Coach Beverly Kiser-Nutt
DC: Doug Coleman, owner of Doug Coleman Real Estate
BKN: What do you do, and for or how long have you been doing it?
DC: I started out in funeral industry for 20 years, and I have a background in construction. I decided to take real estate classes and became an agent 4 years ago.
BKN: Who is your best customer or target customer?
DC: My best Customer is anyone interested in a new home: people who are retiring and downsizing, buying their first home, or growing their family and needing more space. I understand the process and will help them find their dream home and sell their current home.
BKN: What has been the biggest impact of COVID-19 on your business?
DC: Real Estate is booming now, but due to COVID-19, I took two months off to be safe, and it really slowed down business in the pipeline.
BKN: What are 1 or 2 actions you've taken because of the pandemic?
DC: I’ve been doing meetings virtually for the most part. Any time I do showings, I’m taking great care to wear PPE, clean surfaces, and do everything to protect home seller and buyers visiting the homes. Everything is moving forward and building momentum.
BKN: What has been your biggest learning since you became a business owner?
DC: The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you reap what you sow. There are new agents every day, and the best we can do is take care of clients and give the best customer service so that we get referrals and repeat business.
BKN: Any offers to include in the newsletter?
DC: I am offering a free home evaluation for anyone who mentions this interview!
BKN: What is most inspiring to you today?
DC: I am inspired by my friends in BNI WealthBuilders and my neighborhood homeowner's association. I am encouraged to see them work together for the good of all.
