CP: What do you do and how long have you done it?

DG: Owner and operator of a food group since 2014. We do all types of food. I'm a private chef and own two bakeries: Babycakes and Uncle Cheesecake.

CP: Who would you describe as your best customer or target customer?

DG: Younger to middle-age professionals.

CP: What has been the biggest impact of COVID-19 on your business?

DG: Foot traffic is the biggest thing, the more people are active the more they purchase. People's inactivity has been the biggest impact. Babycakes we just purchased and we are trying to transform the business model. One business had a lot of B2B business sales where that is what drove everything.

CP: What are one or two actions you've taken because of the pandemic?

DG: Being mindful of the cleaning process. Before it was just routine, but now it's more stringent. We are looking at how we can have things individually wrapped, like silverware etc. Just thinking about things differently.

CP: What has been your biggest learning since you've been a business owner?

DG: Have a business plan. Make sure the plan makes sense and follow through on it. I did not have any formal business training. Writing out a plan and strategy the goal was to stick to it and see if it work. The plan did work, none of my businesses closed.

CP: What is most inspiring to you right now?

DG: I have a young daughter who loves being around food... seeing her enjoy food as much as I do. It's inspiring to see her have a career path. The resilient of our local community. Its good to see people overcome things. Especially during this political time.
