BKN: What do you do, and for how long have you been doing it?
CW: I started 35 years ago in printing and graphic arts. 15 years ago, I started business cards online, which was my husband's idea for flip phones. I brainstormed and eventually separated 4MyCards from the printing company and incorporated it on its own.
BKN: Who is your best customer?
CW: Networkers and marketers, companies who want to save money on printing business cards, call centers, security companies, and word of mouth customers.
BKN: What has been the biggest impact of COVID-19 on your business?
CW: We now have more competition, but also a growth opportunity as everyone went to Zoom for meetings. We made it possible for our customers to use their QR code for their business card at online meetings.
BKN: What are 1 or 2 actions you've taken because of pandemic, and how are they working?
CW: We started using Zoom for meetings and networking, which also opened us up to global opportunities. We also started hosting Speed Networking events to connect businesses and connect us with businesses. We are growing the business – so they are working well.
BKN: What has been your biggest learning since you've been a business owner?
CW: Mentors are everywhere, and keep learning. The more I know, the more I know I don’t know.
BKN: What is most inspiring to you today?
CW: The unexpected things people do for each other. The “Some Good News” series that John Krasinski created during the lockdown was also really inspring.
